If they practice correct bankroll management, they will already be playing the amount per card that is best for their bankroll size, so the only real way to increase their profitability is to play more cards at once. But, does playing more cards actually increase your profitability?

In mathematical terms, your profitability should be the same. If you play one card and get a 10% return on investment, you will probably play two cards and still get the same ROI. Playing more cards doesn’t make you more money, it just helps you make the same amount of money that you already have a bit faster. Bankroll is the money with which you are playing poker.  Good bankroll management is an important step for becoming a successful player and depends roughly on 2 questions:

1. What amount of money can you loose?
2. In what limits are you playing?

As a beginner you should start on a low-stake Limits. You should do this, because you have to feel the fluctuations of your bankroll, which you won’t avaoid.
