After all the football games played during the Christmas period, we now have the transfer window to look forward to, at the start of the new year. The sports betting world will be busy with online betting markets on every club in the Premier League. I have to admit it has been exciting time for the Premier League, with the emergence of Manchester City as a dominant force; and Tottenham Hot Spurs in the running for a Top 4 finish (and even looking to win the league as per Harry’s recent comments!).
Arsenal is considering a Henry return on a short term deal. Chelsea seem to winning the race to sign Cahill; and Manchester United look to have some interest in Inigo Martinez from Real Sociedad. These are just a few of the juicy bits of information, that make the online betting markets so compelling now. Read more…

The latest in Scratchcard News here: It seems the age old proverb that cheaters never prosper has been proved right yet again. A lady from Penkridge was recently convicted of stealing nearly £11,957 of tickets from the Scratchcard stand, although the face value of them was said to be closer to £15,000!
But the greatest thing about this was, that despite all her efforts to get her hands on a prize that was worthwhile, she never actually won a Jackpot! Most of the prizes that she won are believed to have been between £2 and £20 – nothing of any significant value. The chances of that happening are quite low considering that most Scratchcards tend to pay out between 1:2.5 and 1:6. Read more…
In the gaming world today we can find a huge amount of content to do with casino games. Nearly all casino sites provide some sort of description and/or review of their games; but unfortunately, it doesn’t provide a truly unbiased opinion. Sites with online casino reviews have become the only way of gaining a true perception of the games. These sites, if managed correctly, provide an invaluable service to us all – both operators and punters.
From an operators’s perspective; it gives them invaluable customer feedback on what works, and more importantly, what doesn’t. Read more…

This gambling blog has documented several times where Facebook has made online casino news. Following earlier controversy in which complaints were made against the Facebook-based DoubleDownCasino, which allowed players to purchase credits without the possibility of paying out any of the ‘winnings’, it appears the social media giant is now considering whether or not it should allow members to play online casino games for real money within its site.
The latest development has come on the heels of Facebook allowing online casinos to advertise on its pages. Facebook is examining new ways of building revenue and is consulting a number of gambling industry experts as well as online casino companies to discuss the opportunities that opening this revenue stream would present. If successful, it opens up a huge audience capable of being targeted by demographics, hobbies and preferences. Read more…

With only a few days left till Christmas, it’s time to get your skates on and finish all that Christmas shopping before it’s too late. It’s strange to think, but Christmas is actually one of the most stressful times of the year, with so many things to prepare for, it can be hard to make sure your on top of everything. In anticipation of the online poker market opening on January 1, 2012, the Danish Gambling Authority has issued 55 licences to 38 operators to run online gambling websites. The Scandinavian country is introducing an orderly regulatory framework next year and has granted licences to these companies, which include poker giants 888Poker and Pokerstars, so they can operate lawfully within the new framework. Almost 200 domain names will be allowed to offer gambling online in Denmark.
The nation currently has no regulations governing online gambling, but the government aims to introduce full regulation next year, ostensibly providing protection for all of its citizens who play online. In exchange for the coveted licence, online poker companies will need to pay 20% tax on gross income to the Danish government. In fact, the Minister for Taxation Thor Moger Pedersen issued the press release. Read more…
Online betting has come a long way since the days of mainly horse racing and football. Now, every operator has to think of not only providing great customer service, payment options, promos and betting markets/products; but also has to include social networking, celebrity endorsements and SEO activities. In a move worthy of poker strategy websites, Bodog has rebranded their US facing operations to Bovada.lv. This is the fourth name change for a brand protesting the US Department of Justice’s crackdown on online poker; previous names have included newbodog.com, bodoglife.com, Bodog.com and Bodog.eu and the latest change to Bovada cleverly helps the company evade the DoJ’s authority to seize dot com domains.
After announcing in July this year that they would leave the US market, Bodog has decided to migrate all of its existing players to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group-operated Bovada and the site will be affiliated to the Bodog online poker network. MMGG are Bodog’s US licence holders however in light of the new agreement, Bodog will allow their current licensing agreement to expire at the end of 2011. Read more…

Perhaps one of the more unusual slot machines we’ve seen of late, Endemol Games has partnered with the UFC to produce a game that has casino blog sites wondering. Ultimate Fighting Championship is the largest Mixed Martial Arts promotion company in the world and features a number of top-rated fighters like Anderson Silva and Junior dos Santos.

If you’re an online operator, you might have overlooked Georgia as a potential market in which to bring your casino online. But somewhat surprisingly, the online casino market is experiencing an incredible boom in this country, with pundits noting the increasing demand – and subsequent supply gap – for online casino games including poker, the most popular of all the games in Georgia.
Gambling blog sites have attributed the boom to the number of internet users, which is increasing proportionately to access across the country. Other pundits have acknowledged this as a primary stimulus but also noted that Georgians have a competitive culture that encourages risk-taking, perfect for activities like online casino games; the ‘excitable and erudite’ culture has been cited as the reason for poker’s popularity. The current crop of eighteen year olds seem to have discovered gambling and have added to the older audience of gamblers, creating a thriving market with huge demand.
